  • Bushing releases “xyzzy”

Despite all the bashing and flaming that Bushing has received as of late. He still delivers when unexpected.. therefore he has released a tool that extracts keys from your own Wii

This program will do the following, automatically:

  • Download IOS11 from the Nintendo Update Server
  • Patch it to remove the MEM2 protection (so the PPC can access all 64MB of it)
  • Patch it to allow it to delete itself later using ES_DeleteTitle()
  • Find an unused IOS slot (counting downward from IOS255)
  • Install the hacked IOS11 there
  • Reboot into the hacked IOS
  • Copy the private key structure from the IOS address space into MEM1
  • Reboot back into a sane IOS
  • Delete the temporary, hacked IOS
  • Display the keys on screen
  • Try to write them to a file on the SD card — keys.txt
  • Pause for 60 seconds to allow you to copy the keys down using pen and paper,if necessary

  • Update
  • Nintendo Responds to Bushing?

Bushing recently updated his blog stating that a response has been made from Nintendo. Comments were protected during the conversion, but is now open for the community to view.

Update: A representative from Nintendo has contacted me (see comment below). The rest of you can stop emailing me now. Assuming Nintendo acts in good faith, I don’t expect to be writing much more about this until it’s resolved.

  • Custom Firmware (cIOS apps) by Waninkoko

Well known hacker Waninkoko updated his official site with nifty tools.. 1st ever CUSTOM Firmare (IOS) for the Wii… a custom IOS and a DVD dumper to the SD… which means many people start to dump their Wii games to an SD card.. but does the Wii support SDHC? GenPlus-GX has also been confirmed to read DVD-R’s on an unmodded console.. Does this mean that Softmods are coming soon…?

Please use at your own risk

  • cIOS uninstaller

- This application allows you to uninstall any Custom IOS installed in your Wii console.

  • Custom IOS Installer (v37 rev 02)

- This is a Custom IOS, an IOS modified to add some new features not available in the official IOS.

  • This IOS has been made to be used ONLY with homebrew software.

The Custom IOS installs as IOS249 and it does not modify any other IOS so it is secure to install.

  • IOS37-64-v2070.wad is required for this to work… PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR THE FILE HERE….
  • Wii DVD Dumper (Custom IOS) v1.0

- This application allows you to dump a GC/Wii DVD to a SD card using the Custom IOS (IOS249).

  • genplus-gx-dvd

- GenPlus-GX Genesis Emulator having roms capable of running on a DVD without the need of a modded console
